Information you provide
- Account information: Name, email address, date of birth, and authentication credentials (managed by Clerk)
- Profile information: Display name, bio, headline, photos, country, city, gender, height, education, ethnicity, religion, lifestyle choices (drinking, smoking, drugs), family plans, and prompt answers
- Preferences: Age range, preferred continents, countries, and other matching criteria
- Messages: Text messages and images sent to other users through the chat feature
- Verification data: Selfie photos submitted for identity verification (processed client-side and not stored on our servers)
- Payment information: Processed by Stripe through Clerk. We do not directly store credit card numbers or banking details.
- Contact submissions: Name, email, and message content when you use our contact form
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, actions taken (likes, passes, matches), and timestamps
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and screen size
- Cookies: Session cookies for authentication and preferences
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Display your profile to other users and facilitate matching
- Deliver messages between matched users
- Process subscription payments and manage billing
- Send transactional emails (welcome emails, subscription confirmations, activity digests)
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
- Enforce our Terms & Conditions, including investigating reports and policy violations
- Improve the Service, including our matching algorithm and user experience
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use of the platform
4. Admin Access & Content Moderation
To maintain a safe and respectful community, authorized administrators of Opportunity AI LLC have access to:
- User profiles — including photos, bio, and account details
- Messages — we may review message content when investigating reports of harassment, abuse, fraud, illegal activity, or violations of our Terms & Conditions
- Activity logs — likes, matches, blocks, and reports
- Subscription and payment status — plan tier and billing history (not payment card details)
Admin access to messages is used solely for safety and moderation purposes. We do not sell, share, or use private message content for advertising or any purpose unrelated to platform safety and operation.
5. How We Share Your Information
With other users
Your profile information (name, photos, bio, prompts, country, and other profile details) is visible to other True Match users. Your messages are only visible to you and the recipient.
With service providers
We share data with trusted third-party services:
- Clerk — Authentication and user management
- Stripe — Payment processing (via Clerk)
- Cloudinary — Photo storage and delivery
- Pusher — Real-time messaging infrastructure
- Resend — Transactional email delivery
- Heroku (Salesforce) — Database hosting
- Vercel — Application hosting
These providers only access data necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.
For legal reasons
We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of our users, enforce our terms, or protect the rights of Opportunity AI LLC.
We do not sell your data
Opportunity AI LLC does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Heroku (PostgreSQL) and Cloudinary (photos). We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and follow industry-standard practices to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, photos, matches, and messages. Some data may be retained in backups for up to 30 days.
- Reports and moderation records: We may retain records of reports and moderation actions for safety purposes, even after account deletion.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information via your profile settings
- Delete your account and associated data from your account settings
- Export your data — contact us to request a copy
- Opt out of marketing emails via notification settings

9. Email Communications
We may send you the following types of emails:
- Transactional: Welcome emails, subscription confirmations, account deletion confirmations. These cannot be opted out of.
- Activity digests: Summaries of new matches, messages, and likes. You can control these in your notification settings.
- Re-engagement: Reminders if you haven't been active. You can disable these in your notification settings.
10. International Users
True Match serves users worldwide. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. We process all user data under the same standards regardless of your location.
11. Children's Privacy
True Match is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will delete their account and data promptly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
